Owner

Dr. Karyn Allison, a graduate of the University of Guelph’s Ontario Veterinary College, is known for her love and dedication to her pet patients and their families. Throughout her early life, the many pets she adored and the meaningful experiences she had with a variety of animals helped drive her dream of becoming a veterinarian.

Dr. Allison graduated with Honours in 1997 from the well-renowned Ontario Veterinary College. From 1997 to 2004, she worked at East Oshawa Animal Hospital, the Animal Emergency Clinic of Durham Region, and Smith Veterinary Hospital in Toronto, followed by 16 years at College Manor Veterinary Hospital in Newmarket, ON. After starting a mobile veterinary clinic and working as a locum veterinarian from late 2020 to 2022, Dr. Allison decided to follow her passion for veterinary medicine by partnering with her colleague, Dr. Janet Morrow, to open a full-service veterinary hospital in East Gwillimbury.

Throughout her small animal practice career, Dr. Allison has gained extensive knowledge in medical, surgical, and dental treatments. She has continued to advance her knowledge in several diagnostic practices, including completing many courses in small animal ultrasound. Dr. Allison places a strong emphasis on continuing education and further professional development. This is how she ensures she is providing the best medical care for her patients.

Dr. Allison believes in building and nurturing relationships with her clients and their pets. It is this trust and partnership in the medical care of our pet family that contributes to maintaining a healthy lifelong bond. This high level of care and priority has motivated Dr. Allison to start her own practice, first in a mobile capacity and now in a physical hospital setting.

Outside of her veterinary role, Dr. Allison loves spending time with her family and three golden retrievers: Landyn, Austyn, and Bryndley. Her other passions include volleyball, gardening, golf, and photography.
